Grab a Sneak Peak at Redwood City Patch 2.0
A new design being tested on five East Coast Patch sites emphasizing social networking will be rolled out nationally within six months according to published reports.

Patch launched a redesigned platform on five of its New York sites on Sunday offering a glimpse of what the Patch site in your community will soon look like.
The sites offer Patch users a preview of a design emphasizing social networking that will go national within six months according to published reports.
The biggest change is the addition of "Groups" - content portals that allow Patch users to specify what content they receive when visiting the site (Click here for a video tour of the "Groups" feature).

Group members can post their own content or just talk about news happening in the community. The major groups -- crime, business, etc. -- will be managed by Patch editors.
By design, Patch users outside of the test market cannot post or create items within the five test sites. Also, certain features may change before the redesign is launched nationally.
