Highway 101 Managed Lanes Project: Public Meeting Announced

MILLBRAE, CA — The San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA), in conjunction with Caltrans and the City and County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG) will hold a public meeting to present the Draft Environmental Report for the Highway 101 Managed Lanes Project.

The project would build one new express lane in each direction on Highway 101 between Whipple Avenue in Redwood City and Interstate 380 in San Bruno. The new lanes would provide continuing express lanes that extend from San Antonio Road in Palo Alto to Interstate 380, a distance of 22 miles.

Express lanes allow paying drivers to access the lane in addition to buses and carpoolers.

Comments on the report can be submitted to SM101DEIR_EA_comments@dot.ca.gov and will be received until January 19, 2018.

After the comment period, the plan will be revised based on public comments and submitted to Caltrans for certification, after which Caltrans and the TA would begin the design phase.
