Is Putin the 21st century Hitler?

 There is a sense I have of history repeating itself that keeps me awake at night.
 The very idea of Russia criminalizing ANY kind of LGBT expression in their country is reminiscent of Hitler in the 1930's Germany.
 The idea of purifying a society did not come as a unique idea from Vladimir Putin, but rather in 1933 from Adolph Hilter.

 And what happened in 1936 when the Olympic Games were held in Berlin?
 
 Although he had started his cleansing of society a few years before...Hitler had all signs of Jewish persecution removed from the streets of Berlin for the world's visit. Many countries, including the US, debated whether they should participate in the games at all. Ironically, the Soviet Union did not. 

 We find ourselves at another crossroad of morallity. Replace the word JEW or BLACK with GAY and we see modern Russia.

 Young gays are being lured by social media sites into dangerous situations of beatings, torture, humiliation, and even death. There are skinhead gangs seekng out these young gay people not unlike the SA in Germany. The dreaded German "brown shirts" were the paramilitary branch of the Nazi party. They harrassed, instigated violence, ensured that people boycotted Jewish businesses and even took part in torture and murder in their country against their own countrymen while the world stood by. 
 The Russian authorities have refused to prosecute or investigate  the efforts of these groups to weed out those guilty of "gay propaganda". Yes, ANY kind of display, clothing, signs, opinion of LGBT equality is grounds for arrest.  

 Russian authorities have said the laws will be enforced to the fullest during the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, arresting even international athletes, attendees, anyone who defies this archaic way of thinking. 

 Forget about that idiot Snowden and his seeking assylum there. The MUCH more important question is...
WILL THE WORLD STAND BY WHILE RUSSIA "CLEANSES" ITSELF OF ITS LGBT POPULATION? 

 We need to make sure our elected officials in Washington are paying attention. Only 87 of 435  members of Congress have signed a document condeming Russia's actions. Are your representatives on that list? 

 I call for a boycott from the free world....you're right....The Olympics are not the place for politics...but this is much bigger than just politics. This is lives. This is World History in the making.
