Local Sisters’ Nail Salon Scores Big with Customers

If you’re looking for a great local place to unwind, relax, and indulge in a few spa services, the brand new Belle Nail Spa at 2611 Broadway St. may be just the place.

Opened by two sisters who previously worked at another local nail salon, Belle’s combination of reasonable prices, pleasant atmosphere, friendly and proficient staff, and clean, hygienic equipment are already winning over customers, though the salon just opened in mid-August.

Customers on Belle’s Yelp.com page have been raving about the new downtown spa.

“It was truly one of the most relaxing and well-done pedicures I’ve ever had,” gushed Danielle G. of Redwood City.

“I went in for a mani and pedi, and they spent two hours on my hands and feet,” said E.C. of Sunnyvale. “This place gives one of the best massages—hot stones included!”

“I’ve never received better customer service than at Belle,” said Wendy G. of Redwood City. “I’ll definitely be coming back.”

Impressively, out of 20 reviews on Yelp since the spa opened, 18 of them are for five out of five stars—and the two reviews that weren’t, were for four stars.

Belle Nail Spa offers the latest in manicures and pedicures—such as artificial, gelish and the long-lasting new craze, shellac—as well as services like massages, brow and lash tinting, facials and waxing. Most services range between $30-50, and often, combo packages are available.

One of the things customers appear to like most about getting nails done at Belle--aside from how comfortable and relaxing the massage chairs are--are the spa’s clean and hygienic practices. After each customer, the nail tools are cleaned, sterilized and sealed in packages. The foot baths are removable, and the nail technicians take them out to clean and sterilize them after each use. Nothing is ever used on more than one customer at a time, or without being cleaned first.

“I’m kind of a germ freak, and never get pedicures because I know what it takes to actually clean and sterilize those tubs, and most places just don't,” said Yelp reviewer Katielynn W. of Redwood City, who said she works as a hairdresser. “But the pedicure bowls here are not the usual; they are easily removed and cleaned properly, which I saw them doing when I went to use the restroom. That alone deserves five stars in my book!”

Belle Nail Spa is open Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
