The 39-year-old victim told investigators he was walking east on Fifth Avenue around 10:30 p.m. beneath the overhead train tracks near Williams Avenue when he was attacked by three men, sheriff’s officials said.

The suspects tried to take the victim’s cellphone, searched his waist area and punched and kicked him until he fell to the ground.

A fourth suspect might also have acted as a lookout. He was described as a clean-shaven white man with black hair in a ponytail around 26 to 27 years old who was wearing a white tank top.
