Mountain Lion Sighting Reported in Los Trancos Woods
The sighting was reported near the border of Santa Clara County.

A mountain lion was spotted Tuesday evening in the Los Trancos Woods area of San Mateo County, according to county emergency officials.

The county issued an alert shortly before 7:25 p.m. about the sighting reported in the area of Ramona Road and Carmel Way near the border with Santa Clara County.
Residents are advised to not approach a mountain lion and should avoid hiking or jogging during dawn, dusk or night hours when the animals are most active, according to county emergency officials.
