Mountain Lion Spotted in San Carlos

Animal was spotted around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A mountain lion was spotted in San Carlos on Wednesday night, San Mateo County emergency officials said Thursday.

The sighting was reported at about 10:30 p.m. near the 200 block of Club Drive, according to the county’s Office of Emergency Services.

People who see mountain lions are urged to not approach it, especially if the animal is feeding or with offspring.

County officials advise people to avoid hiking or jogging at dawn, dusk or at night when mountain lions are most active, and to keep a close watch on small children.
