Mountain Lion Spotted South of Woodside
Sheriff's officials say someone reported seeing the animal in unincorporated La Honda.

A mountain lion was seen on a road in unincorporated La Honda on Tuesday night, San Mateo County sheriff’s officials said.
The sighting was reported at 8:45 p.m. in the vicinity of state Highway 84, also known in the area as La Honda Road, and Pescadero Creek Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area but did not locate the mountain lion.

Anyone who sees a mountain lion is advised not to approach it, especially if the animal is feeding or with offspring.
If a resident encounters a mountain lion, the animal is advised to not run, but instead to face the animal, make noise and try to look bigger by waving arms and throwing rocks or other objects, sheriff’s officials said.
