The Museum
announces that a first 500 items in its collections are now available to be
viewed online at historysmc.pastperfect-online.com.
The
500 entries are only the start. The Museum possesses 15,000 three-dimensional
objects and 200,000 archival items. The rest will appear as the Museum
continues to marshal resources toward the effort.
For
now, posted collections includes the beautifully fashioned Charles Parsons
Model Ship collection, the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame, most of the
Museum’s horse drawn vehicles and a sampling of photographs of Redwood City
taken by James Van Court in the 1890s. The Museum staff will be continuously
entering new pieces to the site and invite the public to check back often.
