Patelco CU Hires Information Security Officer

New Hire Designed to Enhance Member Information Privacy and Financial Security as Digital Banking Increases

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Patelco Credit Union, one of California’s largest credit unions with more than $4 billion in assets, announced the hiring of Brent Gifford to serve as the organization’s Information Security Officer. In his role, Gifford will work closely with Patelco’s Information Technology Team and Risk Management Team to safeguard the privacy and security of member personal information and finances.

“More and more members are turning to online and mobile banking options and they need to know their identity and finances are secure,” said Kevin Landel. “We are fortunate to have Brent join our team as we assist members with their growing digital banking needs.”

Gifford joins Patelco with more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field, specifically supporting credit unions. His career includes roles as Chief Information Officer at Northwest Community Credit Union where he led the operational, administrative, legal and financial functions of the Information Technology department, and developed and implemented a best in class security infrastructure and program. Gifford received his Bachelors of Science degree in Information Management with a minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University, Utah, and his Masters of Science in Information Systems with an emphasis in Information Security from George Mason University, Virginia. Gifford also has an Advanced Leadership degree from the Harvard Business CEO School.
