In Photos: Locals Stampede for Sequoia High Sports
Saturday's 5K run raises funds for all of Sequoia High School's athletic programs.
More than 700 runners turned out for the second annual Sequoia Stampede 5k run on Saturday. The popular event, hosted by the Sports Boosters, raises much-needed funds for all of Sequoia High's athletic programs.
Sponsor booths dotted the grounds while runners signed in and warmed up before the race. Music blared while Craig Silverman announced the event.
The course began and ended on the high school campus and wound throughout the local neighborhood, temporarily closing some streets.

Armen Vartanian took first place overall with a record time of 14:39 minutes, also earning him the top spot in the "Male 30-39" age group.
Maria Frey took the top female spot overall with a time of 18:49 minutes, as well as the "Female 40-49" age group.
