Man Acting Suspicious With 13-Year-Old Girl In Redwood City Sought By Police
The teen girl said she had recently left school when a man pulled up and asked her for her name and phone number, police said.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Officers are investigating a report of a man who was behaving suspiciously toward a 13-year-old girl on Tuesday in Redwood City, police said.
On Wednesday, the teen told police that on Tuesday afternoon a gray sedan drove past her, made a U-turn, and stopped, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
Police said the driver rolled down his window and asked the girl for directions to downtown Redwood City. After she provided them, he then asked her for her phone number, which she declined. He then asked for her name, which she also refused to provide. The driver then left the scene, police said.

The teen told her father, who contacted the school, and the school subsequently notified the police. Officers canvassed the area but could not immediately locate surveillance footage.
The investigation is active.
