Redwood City Announces Holiday Closures

Here's a revised list of what will be closed for the upcoming holiday season.

The following is a news release from the city of Redwood City:

The City of Redwood City announced today a revised list of City facility closures for November through January. This schedule ensures that residents and the community know when administrative offices and other city facilities are closed in the weeks ahead.

All City facilities will be closed on the following dates, with a few exceptions noted below:

  • Thursday, November 26 - Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday, November 27 - Day after Thanksgiving
  • Thursday, December 24 - Christmas Eve
  • Friday, December 25 - Christmas Day
  • Monday, December 28 - Wednesday, December 30 - City Holiday**
  • Thursday, December 31 - New Year’s Eve
  • Friday, January 1 - New Year’s Day
  • Monday, January 18 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day

**The Port of Redwood City, all Redwood City libraries, and Public Works will remain open from December 28-30.

Redwood City’s Community Centers will also be closed during the following dates:

  • Community Activities Building, Red Morton Community Center & Sandpiper Community Center - December 21 to January 3
  • Veterans Memorial Senior Center - December 21 to January 2
  • Fair Oaks Community Center - December 21 to January 1

Closure dates above affect the following City Departments: City Attorney, City Clerk, City Manager, Community Development, Finance, Fire Department (administrative offices), Human Resources, Library, Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Police Department (administrative offices), the Port of Redwood City, and Public Works. Police and Fire emergency operations will continue as scheduled, without any limitations in service.

In addition, a residential fire last week on Euclid Avenue in Redwood City caused minor fire damage to the Schaberg Branch Library. The library is closed until Monday, November 30 due to fire damage. Residents are encouraged to visit the Downtown Library at 1044 Middlefield Road to return their items and for additional Library services. Items being held for Schaberg Branch customers will be transferred to the Downtown Library this week for pickup.
