Redwood City Company Expands ‘Impossible’ Reach

REDWOOD CITY, CA — An acclaimed Redwood City company that mainstreamed what was once considered a fringe food just expanded the reach of the “impossible.”
Impossible Foods announced Tuesday that its flagship plant-based burgers will be available nationwide after striking a deal with America’s largest grocery chain.
The Impossible Burger will be sold in 8-ounce packages at nearly 2,000 stores owned by the Kroger Co., which includes Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Mariano’s, Smith’s, among others.

The Peninsula firm has been named Inc. Magazine’s company of the year and one of Time Magazine’s 50 Genius companies.
The flagship product, Impossible Burger, was named top plant-based burger by the New York Times and received the Food and Beverage (FABI) Award from the National Restaurant Association.
