Redwood City Invites Community to Help Plan for Housing, Community Development Needs

The city encourages community members to help with the five-year plan.

The following is a news release from the city of Redwood City:

The City of Redwood City invites the community to participate in a meeting and provide input and comments on the City’s housing and community development needs. This important community discussion is regarding the City’s Consolidated Plan for future use of federal housing and community development funds.

CONSOLIDATED PLAN COMMUNITY MEETING
Wednesday, November 5, 2014 - 7:00 PM
City Hall - Redwood City
City Council Chambers
1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City

This is part of a broad community outreach effort in preparation of the city’s 2015-2020 “Consolidated Plan” for the use of federal housing and community development funds. The city receives nearly a million dollars each year from the federal Department of Housing and Community Development. These funds are available for elements such as affordable housing, home rehabilitation, homeless services, and public facilities improvement, as well as to support social service programs. Community input is critical to shaping how these funds are used over the next five years.

For more information, please visit the City’s housing web page or call 650-780-7234.

In addition to the November 5 community meeting, the City has created an online survey to provide residents with another opportunity to offer input on these critical community needs. The survey can be used for written responses and comments in addition to answering “check the box” questions. Residents may also submit comments and questions to the City by email to rcoffman@redwoodcity.org or by sending to:
