Redwood City Man Arrested in Millbrae in Suspicion of Vehicle Burglary
Residents reported seeing suspicious men in their neighborhood that led to the arrests.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on Thursday, both suspected of multiple charges, including burglary and possessing a stolen vehicle.
At 3:27 a.m., a resident called deputies to report a suspicious man looking into cars on the street in the 1300 block of Toulumne Road, according to sheriff’s officials.
The resident also reported seeing a Honda Accord driving slowly in the neighborhood, with the car’s light turned off, sheriff’s officials said.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they located the Honda. When deputies attempted to contact the vehicle, the driver turned on its headlights and sped away, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies discovered the vehicle was stolen and began brief vehicle pursuit with the suspects.

During the pursuit, the driver, San Francisco resident Edward Barton, 25, struck two sheriff’s patrol cars head on, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies apprehended Barton in the damaged vehicle near Helen Drive and Brookside Lane, with the help of sheriff’s office K9.
Deputies also located the man who was spotted looking into cars.
He’s been identified as Redwood City resident Jason Augustine, 27, sheriff’s officials said.
Both suspects were arrested and booked in the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, assault with at deadly weapon upon police, hit and run, evading police, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and conspiracy, according to sheriff’s officials.
