Redwood City Man Crashes During Suspected DUI Stop
The 23-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for facial lacerations and chest pain.

A Redwood City man suspected of driving under the influence lost control of his vehicle during a traffic stop early Sunday Morning, according to police. Around 2:30 a.m. a San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputy parked at Belmont Avenue and El Camino Real in San Carlos and spotted a vehicle traveling south on El Camino Real at a high speed, according to deputies.
The deputy suspected that the driver was intoxicated. When the deputy attempted to stop the driver as he turned west onto Oak Avenue, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit two parked cars, deputies said.
Michael Skucas, 23, was taken into custody and transported to a hospital due to facial lacerations and chest pain. At the hospital, deputies cited Skucas on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to deputies.
