FREMONT, CA - A man who was killed in a crash on Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont early Saturday morning was identified by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau today as 34-year-old John Sugiyama of Redwood City.
California Highway Patrol officials said the crash, which was reported at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, occurred on northbound I-880 near the Auto Mall Parkway off-ramp.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert because of the crash but all lanes were reopened a short time later.
