Redwood City Woman Appointed to Student Aid Commission
She was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown.

Gov. Jerry Brown has announced the appointment of two Bay Area residents to the California Student Aid Commission, according to the governor’s office.
Lande Ajose, 48, of Oakland, and Jessica Foresti, 19, of Redwood City, have both been appointed to the commission, which works to help make education beyond high school financially accessible to all Californians.

Ajose has been a deputy director of California Competes since 2011. She was previously a director for Incoming Change from 2006 to 2011 and a research associate at Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation from 2005 to 2007.
Foresti has been an assistant at Notre Dame de Namur University’s Dorothy Stang Center since earlier this year. She was previously a crewmember at Wendy’s and a tutor for Project Read at the Redwood City Public Library in 2013.

Both appointees still require state Senate confirmation and will receive compensations of $100 per day.
