Sandpiper School Garden vandalized

The teaching garden at Sandpiper Elementary, Redwood Shores, was vandalized this past weekend, probably during night hours on November 23. Besides doing considerable material damage to the garden, this senseless act is disturbing instruction for kindergarten and 1st grade students who are learning about plant life cycles through hands on instruction in the garden. Young vegetable plants that our students planted a couple of weeks ago were pulled out, and only a few survived this act of vandalism. Even more disheartening is the fact that the garden was already vandalized in a similar manner only a month ago on October 26.
