The San Mateo County STEM Festival will be held at the Redwood City Courthouse Square on April 16th from 11 - 4. See over 30 demonstrations.

Exciting News - the first San Mateo County STEM Festival will be held at the Redwood City Courthouse Square on April 16th from 11 - 4. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Featuring over 30 local businesses and organizations, the STEM Festival will bring fun, hands-on activities for the whole family that will show kids the importance of STEM subjects in school and also increase their interest in STEM careers by showing them applications in everyday life. The Redwood City Youth Literacy Council, who has brought you many other successful programs, will be spearheading this event, working with the Redwood City Library Foundation, the Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, and the Redwood City Library. We are very lucky to have the Port of Redwood City being one of the sponsors of the event to allow us to offer FREE admittance to the San Mateo County History Museum for the day where maritime-related STEM activities will be occurring inside. In Courtroom A upstairs, we will be offering contests for kids with prizes. Thank you to all our sponsors: Oracle, The Port of Redwood City, Redwood City Elks Lodge 1991, State Farm, and Youth Service America. Everyone will enjoy this event which will include: Hands-on Demonstrations for ALL Ages, Robots, 3D and Laser Printing, Virtual Reality, Contests for Kids, Boat and Bridge Building, Molecule Design, Static Electricity, and More! We also will have a stage where interesting demonstrations and events will occur.

See the website at: www.stemfestival2016.com. (The Events tab has the participants and speakers.) Please pass on the information to your friends and teachers. Thanks for your support. If we get many people coming, we will keep these free events coming - put on totally by volunteers.
