Sheriff Investigating Gunfire In Redwood City Early Monday
The sheriff's office is asking the public for any information about gunshots heard on Dumbarton Avenue Monday morning.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police are investigating after receiving a report of gunfire on Dumbarton Avenue early Monday morning and finding shell casings on the sidewalk after arriving on the scene, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
The report came in at 12:55 a.m. and sheriff's deputies responded to 226 Dumbarton Ave., the office said in a release. The discovery of shell casings on the ground confirmed that someone had been shooting a gun, but deputies didn't find any victims, suspects, or damage from the gunfire in the area.
The sheriff's office is investigating the incident as negligent discharge of a firearm. The department is encouraging anyone with information about the gunshots to contact its anonymous tip line at 800-547-2700.
