SMC Middle School Teacher Sentenced For Sex Acts With Student: DA
The teacher began what prosecutors described as a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old victim in 2014.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A former Daly City middle school music teacher was sentenced on Monday to more than a decade in state prison after being convicted of over a dozen counts of child sex acts involving a student, San Mateo County District Attorney’s Stephen Wagstaffe said.
Marcus Deon Dyson, 52, was sentenced Monday by Judge Kevin Dunleavy to 10 years and 8 months, prosecutors said. The sentencing follows his plea of no contest on Sept. 19 to a total of 14 felony counts: six counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 16, and eight counts of oral copulation on a child under 18, prosecutors said.
Dyson, who worked at Robertson Middle School, began what prosecutors described as a sexual relationship with the 14-year-old victim in 2014. According to the DA's office, the acts took place both at the middle school and at Dyson’s home.
