The weather forecast looks good for us here in Redwood city. Don't get me wrong, I loved all of our much needed rainfall, but like some of you, I am ready to get outdoors! That said, let's be mindful of how we do it. Whether you get outside to enjoy a city or county park for a hike or walk, be aware of your surroundings as you park. Be respectful of neighbors driveways and property. Parks like Edgewood Park have limited parking spaces, so folks tend to park where ever they can squeeze in. Be careful not to block other vehicles in, or obstruct driveways. Always be mindful of muddy areas that may contribute to erosion or to you getting stuck!
On narrow trails, be mindful of others as you pass or as you are being passed. Careful not to trample on sensitive areas that are still wet and muddy or are restricted by signage or materials. With this recent weather break, expect our parks to being near capacity. Remember to take any trash with you and pitch in by taking some from the trails that others may have accidentally left behind. Take the opportunity to share the experience and appreciate this great town we live in. See you out there!
