Summer Camp

Young Genius, Speech and Debate Academy still has openings in the Elementary School Speech and Debate camp for 4-5 grades student from August 10 to August 14 from 9:10am to 12:10pm.

In this camp students will be introduced to Congressional Debate and different formats of speeches.
In Congressional Debate students will simulate the U.S. Congress and debate bills and resolutions of current interest. The competitive format is 6 to 9 students in a room giving speeches and asking questions of each other.
In speech portion of camp students will be introduced to the major formats of speech in the categories of Interpretation, memorizing and presenting a previously published piece of work or Original Oratory, where a student works on composing an original piece and presenting it. The instructor will evaluate each students strengths and pick a format that best suits the student.

After taking this camp students should improve in their writing, critical thinking and presentation skills.
