SuperBowl Information

Different sources of information regarding SuperBowl week.

SuperBowl is finally upon us. The players flew in and now the activities are starting.


One of the groups I belong to was nice enough to put together a list of links regarding various different details and I thought it might be nice to share it with the rest of the community.

So here in no particular order some important links for SuperBowl:

VTA - “The Bay Area hosts Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016. This will impact Bay Area roads and public transportation. The entire VTA Light Rail system will be reconfigured and rescheduled to accommodate passengers traveling to and from Levi’s Stadium that weekend. Below is information for passengers not attending events at Levi’s Stadium. We have more detailed information for passengers attending events at Levi’s Stadium.”

SF MTA- “From January 23 to February 12 — almost three weeks — street closures will be in effect for two major Super Bowl events: Super Bowl City, a fan village in front of the Ferry Building and on Market Street that will be free to the public and the NFL Experience, a pro football interactive theme park at the Moscone Center that will be ticketed. KQED SuperBowl Info - “Although the Super Bowl will be held in Santa Clara on Feb. 7, more than 1 million people are expected to flood into the Bay Area over a nine-day period for events taking place in San Francisco, Santa Clara, Daly City and Oakland.”

Levi’s Stadium info - Includes information regarding half-time show: ”Global superstars Coldplay, winners of seven Grammy Awards, will perform at the Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show on CBS Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, the NFL announced during halftime of the Thursday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions on CBS and NFL Network.”

City of San Jose SuperBowl Info: “Residents, visitors, and SB50 fans are encouraged to subscribe for important Game Week updates from the Bay Area’s Joint Information Center for SB50.

Simply text SB50 to 888777 to receive the information.

City of Redwood City SuperBowl info: “If Redwood City is a stop on your way to the Super Bowl, don’t miss your chance to explore the entertainment hub of Silicon Valley. Downtown Redwood City offers some of the best restaurants and cafés on the Peninsula, live music several nights of the week at the historic Fox Theatre, and frequent outdoor events in our beautiful Courthouse Square. Check out our Downtown Redwood City microsite for more information. ”

Mineta San Jose Airport Travel info: “February 8, the day after the Big Game, is expected to be the busiest day for the airport. SJC handles about 15,000 departing passengers on an average day, but February 8 could bring up to an additional 10,000 passengers, almost a 65 percent increase in traffic”

SFO Airport Travel info: Extended hours of operation and procedures for particular airlines.
