Thank-you Postmaster DeGraffenreed

Our USPS will continue to survive with the arduous day to day grass root support of its workers and leadership like Degraffenreed's.

On November 2013 Patrick Donahoe, former Postmaster General of These United States of America made it known that USPS would deliver Amazon packages seven days a week. (Bloomberg Business Week, 3-9 August 2015). Since then under the current Postmaster General(PMG), Megan Brennan, Bernstein Research estimates that USPS delivers about 40% of Amazon parcels. Even though Amazon has its own delivery system and is considering drone delivery, its arrangement with the USPS which provides about 300,000 carriers to do Amazon’s deliveries seemingly is not a competitive situation. However, it is a much needed source of revenue for the USPS.

After Megan Brennan took on responsibility for being the 74th Postmaster General in March 2014 in July 2014 Latanya J. Degraffenreed accepted her Redwood City, CA Postmaster appointment. She is one of the “USPS Unsung Heroes” who is commanding the front lines for PMG Brennan by keeping her USPS sector efficient and on time. DeGraffenreed expressed her commitment to public service. She meant it. She reaches out to her community to help. Recently when the City of Redwood City refused to provide a 94063 City tenants with parcel box units for their mailbox cluster, Postmaster Degraffenreed located and installed surplus units for the community. Neighborhood volunteers worked with her to prepare an appropriate parcel unit location and foundation. This contribution immediately removed a delivery impasse for the Redwood Creek Neighborhood .This action saves time and energy for both client and service provider.

Thank you Postmaster DeGraffenreed for standing by your commitment. Our USPS will continue to survive with the arduous day to day grass root support of its workers and leadership like Degraffenreed’s. Let’s make Benjamin Franklin smile. Get the USPS out of debt.
