Three Suspects Sought in Robbery Near Redwood City

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Thursday armed robbery at a restaurant near Redwood City.

Deputies responded at 9:46 p.m. to a robbery in progress at the El Guanaco Restaurant at 2950 Middlefield Road, according to the agency.

Three suspects armed with semi-automatic handguns entered the restaurant, ordered the employees to open the cash register and then took personal property from a female employee’s purse, deputies said.

The suspects fled the area on foot before responding deputies arrived. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-547-2700.
