REDWOOD CITY, CA — Thursday is the last day for San Mateo neighbors to apply for federal assistance to help cover losses related to severe weather between Dec. 27, 2022, and Jan. 31.

Assistance can include grants to pay for home repairs or temporary housing, along with other needs directly stemming from the declared disaster, including medical, transportation, moving and childcare expenses.

Officials note that the current grant window applies only to the storms through the end of January, and not the more recent round of active weather this week.
