Tickets Available Now For Art Fundraiser

The Kiwanis Club of Menlo Park’s “Arts & Appetizers” fundraising event will be held at a private residence in Atherton, Saturday, August 22, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Complimentary parking is available.

Ticket price for the evening is $40 per person and includes wine, appetizers and other refreshments. A percentage of the artist’s sales and proceeds from a silent auction will help the Kiwanis Club raise funds to help many local organizations.

An evening of art, wine and music, will be toped off with the results of silent auction held throughout the evening. It features donations by the artists and Kiwanis members. Palo Alto artist Karen White has donated a 14 x 18 inch oil painting entitled “East Bay Gold”. Shi Embroidery, of San Jose, has donated a 16” x 20” hand sewn embroidery art piece.

“Other artists include pastel artist Teresa Ruzzo, Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos and Susan Fast who designs and creates jewelry that can be seen at The Main Gallery in Redwood City. Two Wanderers Fine Art Photography (San Jose photographers Sergiy and Galyna Pecherskyy) will display photos of the West,” said event chair Holly Hanson. “Jeff Davison of Wood Turning Obsession will display a variety of wood bowls and other wood crafted items.”

This gala is just one of many events Kiwanis sponsors throughout the year. Through the purchase tickets, and a percentage of art sales, this event supports many local programs and organizations, including scholarships for Menlo-Atherton High School graduates, Special Games for physically challenged youth, Rebuilding Together, St Anthony’s Dining Hall, Tour de Cure of Diabetes, and Key Club of Menlo-Atherton High School.
