TRAFFIC ALERT: Downed Wires Prompt Highway 84 Closure in Woodside
Officials say to expected the closure to last for some time. [BREAKING]

WOODSIDE, CA – If you're planning on taking Highway 84 anytime soon, be prepared for a closure in the area.
The following message was sent from the San Mateo County Alert System (SMC Alert) on Thursday at 4:04 p.m.:
HWY 84 in Woodside will be closed in both directions for approximately 2 days! PG&E on scene replacing downed wires and poles! Local traffic only! Drive safely!

The following update was provided at 4:55 p.m.:
Highway 84 west of Woodside is closed due to road repair between Grandview Drive and Skywood Way. The road is closed in both directions. Please use alternate routes. Update to follow as soon as road is cleared. Please drive safely!Local traffic only!

The final update at 5:45 p.m. stated:
Skyline Blvd to Grandview in the East direction is open. Hwy 84 at Portola Rd. up to Skywood is open for residents only. Skywood to Grandview is closed.
A 100' section of road is slipping with downed power lines. PG&E will possibly have periodic/ temporary power shutdowns during this time. Closure is minimum 2 days with significant delays after that with one lane closures for an extended period. USE ALTERNATE ROUTES via Old La Honda Rd., Kings Mt Rd or Hwy 92. Fire Marshal Denise Enea
