TRAFFIC ALERT: Ralston Avenue To Be Partially Closed Thursday

Make sure to include additional time into your daily commute and use alternate routes.

The following is a news release from the city of Belmont:

Traffic delays should be expected on Ralston Avenue due to sewer main construction on Thursday, November 13, 2014 between 5:00 a.m. to approximately 7:00 a.m.

The contractor for the Ralston Avenue Sewer Main Replacement Project started work last Monday for the Ralston Avenue Sewer Main Replacement Project. Pipes and construction related equipment have been delivered to the site. The contractor will continue with potholing, pit excavation and other preparation work early next week. The project will be performed in three stages along Ralston Avenue between South Road and Notre Dame Avenue. The first stage of replacing pipe between South Road and the Notre Dame University entrance will begin on Thursday.

Ralston Avenue WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN 5:00AM TO 7:00AM ON THURSDAY MORNING to bring two sections of fused pipes (500’ and 300’) from Notre Dame Avenue to South Road.

Four police officers will be at the surrounding locations to help direct traffic if necessary. Proper signage, barricades and flagmen will be provided by the contractor to minimize the impact to the traffic.
