Traffic Stop Yields Gun, Drugs In North Fair Oaks: Police

According to the sheriff's office, deputies discovered a stolen gun and drugs on a passenger during a traffic stop in North Fair Oaks.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A passenger in a car pulled over during a routine traffic stop Thursday was arrested after deputies discovered drugs and a stolen gun, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said deputies were on patrol in North Fair Oaks when they spotted a code violation. After pulling the vehicle over, deputies said they learned the man driving had a suspended license. As the investigation continued, officials said a K-9 detected narcotics in the vehicle, and deputies soon discovered the passenger was carrying drugs and a stolen gun.

The passenger was booked into jail on suspicion of firearm and drug-related charges. The driver was cited for the license violation and released.
