
Two East Palo Alto women were arrested Thursday in connection with a residential burglary in Redwood City.
Anna Gomes, 18, and Tatyana Spears, 18, were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, police said. Officers responded at 10:55 a.m. to a report of a residential burglary in the area of Yarnall Place. During a police canvass of the area for possible witnesses, a neighbor told officers there was a suspicious red car in the area before the burglary.
A short time later, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an interrupted residential burglary in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue in an unincorporated area of San Mateo County, police said. During the investigation, the deputies learned a small red Acura Integra was involved in the burglary.

Later in the day, an East Palo Alto Police officer patrolling in the 1700 block of E. Bayshore Road in East Palo Alto located the Acura with three people inside, police said.
Redwood City police and sheriff’s deputies responded and located property in the suspects’ vehicle that was taken in the Redwood City burglary.

Redwood City detectives arrested Gomes, Spears and a juvenile female. Investigators determined the juvenile was not involved in the burglary, so she was released to her parents.
