Two Injured in Head-On Crash Near Belmont

Two people were injured in a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon east of Belmont that closed the connecting ramp from northbound Interstate Highway 280 to westbound state Highway 92, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two pickup trucks crashed head-on there just after 3 p.m., CHP officials said.

Two people were initially reported trapped in one of the vehicles and an ambulance was called to the area. One person suffered major injuries and another person suffered moderate injuries, CHP officials said.

The ramp remained closed until 4:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
