Woodside High School Athletes of the Week

October 3 2014

Varsity Athlete: Cole Alves
Sport: Girls’ Water Polo
Coaches’ Lens (Head Coach-Laura Reynolds): “Cole moved up to Varsity this year to fill the shoes of the former MVP-Goalie of the league last year. She has more than stepped up. Although she is only 5′ 4″ tall, she plays like a 6’ goalie – blocking every shot that comes at her outside of 5 meters.
She is our defensive quarterback and most spirited player right now. I can rely on her to step up at game time, she never quits!”

Underclassman Athlete: Max Untrecht
Sport: Boys’ Varsity Water Polo
Performance and Coaches’ Lens (Head Coach-Rafael Alapont): “During this past week Max scored 12 goals, 6 goals vs. Terra Nova and 6 goals vs. San Mateo. His defense on the perimeter led to our scoring counter attacks. He has improved his court vision to make his teammates better.”
