• Firefighter compensation bill revived by Assemblyman Flora (theriverbanknews.com) — Riverbank residents are part of Assemblyman Heath Flora’s district, where he has revived a bill to boost CalFire firefighter pay and advanced another to tighten oversight of professional fiduciaries. Both measures passed the Assembly before last week’s deadline with bipartisan backing, and Flora’s office is inviting constituents to reach out with questions or concerns. 
• Four local residents seek Grand Jury posts (theriverbanknews.com) — A Riverbank resident, Kenneth Cosner, is among 23 candidates vying for 19 seats on the 2026–27 Stanislaus County Civil Grand Jury, alongside three Oakdale neighbors. Final selection and swearing-in will happen June 30 in Modesto, with mandatory training set for July 9–10.
