Free School Supplies For 100 Oakland Students
The kids are going on a shopping spree to get what they need.
The Oakland Public Education Fund will be treating 100 Oakland Unified School District students to a $100 shopping spree for school supplies today in anticipation of the new school year, according to district officials.
The shopping spree will see 50 underprivileged students and 50 "newcomer" students visit the Target store in Emeryville to get the supplies, district officials said.
Oakland A's mascot Stomper, Lesley West - wife of Golden State Warriors player David West and Oakland Fire Department Chief Darrin White will also be making appearances.
