Homicide No. 5 In 4 Days In Oakland

One killed and two injured in a shooting Tuesday night, police said.

OAKLAND, CA – Three separate shootings in Oakland on Tuesday left one person dead and two others injured, according to police.

The fatal shooting was reported at 11:12 p.m. in the 1100 block of 65th Avenue. The male victim's identity has not been released and no arrests have been made in the case, police said.

The homicide is the fifth in Oakland since early Sunday morning.

Police held a news conference Tuesday to say they are having additional officers patrol the city's streets to respond to the violence.

No arrests have been announced in any of the fatal shootings.

There were also two non-fatal shootings in Oakland on Tuesday. The first was reported at 7:49 p.m., when a man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest and arm and said he had been shot in the 900
block of Union Street, police said.

The second case was reported at 10:26 p.m. in the 2700 block of San Pablo Avenue, where a male victim suffered gunshot wounds to his calves, according to police.

The victims in both cases are in stable condition, and no arrests have been announced for either shooting.
