Man Shot at Oakland Homeless Encampment

OAKLAND, CA — A man was shot in the leg near an Interstate Highway 880 overpass in West Oakland early this morning, police said.

The gunfire was reported at 2:41 a.m. in the 500 block of Brush Street, where there is a large homeless encampment, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was reported to be in stable condition.
