Oakland Man Stabbed to Death in San Jose

Eric Christopher Hampton was identified Wednesday by the coroner's office.

OAKLAND, CA — A man stabbed to death in San Jose last weekend has been identified as 22-year-old Eric Christopher Hampton of Oakland, police said.

Hampton was found in the area of South Second and Martha streets, where officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, police said. When officers reached the scene, they found the victim with at
least one stab wound, according to police.

Emergency crews took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No suspects have been identified in connection with the fatal stabbing, according to police.

The death is the city's 28th homicide this year, police said.
