Oakland Tech Offers Tours for Future Students

Prospective students and their families may learn about Oakland Technical High School at an open house on Thursday, Nov. 8, and classroom tours this month and next. "Shadow tours" for future students begin in January.

From the Oakland Technical High School PTSA:

Every fall, families tour high schools throughout the Bay Area seeking the right fit for their student.

Oakland Tech, with over 1,900 students, offers prospective students the nationally renowned Paideia program, award-winning “schools within a school” academies centered on different career fields, special academic programs, rigorous AP courses, the comprehensive Performing Arts program,  strong athletics, involved parents and more.

There are many ways for families considering Oakland Tech to learn more about the school.

Shadow visits for interested students begin in January. These visits are opportunities for 8th graders and high school transfer students to spend an in-depth day or part of a day with a Tech student host, following the Tech student host’s schedule.

Before requesting a shadow visit, a family must have already visited Tech at least once: at the Information Night, on a tour or through having another family member already enrolled.

Sign-up for a tour now or a Shadow Day after the Nov. 8  Information Night at http://oaklandtech.com/staff/admissions/prospective-families.
