OAKLAND, CA - Oakland police said they want to alert people in West Oakland and Berkeley that the gun that a suspect allegedly brandished when he rammed a number of vehicles with his car on Wednesday morning is still missing.

Oakland police said in a statement, “If you find what you suspect to be a firearm, whether in public or private property, such as yards, bushes or roofs, do not touch it. Please safeguard the location, call 911 and remain on scene until the police arrive.”

The suspect, 37-year-old Darrell Clarence Blackmon of Berkeley, allegedly used his Mitsubishi sedan to strike more than a dozen vehicles, including two Oakland police patrol cars, in West Oakland and Berkeley during a rampage between 8:30 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday before he was finally arrested in the area of Delaware Street and McGee Avenue in Berkeley.
