Students March Through Streets Of Oakland
The students are marching to district offices to protest looming budget cuts and an imminent teachers strike.

OAKLAND, CA — Dozens of Oakland high school students have abandoned their classrooms and are marching through the streets of the city in solidarity with teachers who are demanding high wages, and in opposition to budget cuts that would close schools.
The teens are marching from Oakland Technical High School at 4351 Broadway, to the district offices at 1000 Broadway.
The district is $30 million in the red, while teachers have voted overwhelmingly to go on strike for higher wages.
