Equipment Problem Knocks Out Power To Thousands
It took 12 hours, but PG&E crews have restored all power.

OAKLAND, CA — Thousands of homes and businesses were without power in Oakland Monday morning, according to PG&E. The impacted area includes Merritt College, Holy Names University and Skyline High School.
The outage was caused by an equipment problem. Initially, the power was out for 2,102 customers. That number was whittled down to just 22 within a few hours.
The outage began just after 7 a.m. Power was restored to the final 22 customers at at 7:23 p.m.
