2 Dead In Murder-Suicide Shooting At Coddingtown Mall: SRPD
Santa Rosa police said a shooting Monday at Coddingtown Mall that left a man and woman dead was a murder-suicide.
SANTA ROSA, CA — A married couple who recently separated have been identified as the two people who died Monday morning in a shooting in the parking lot of Coddingtown Mall in Santa Rosa, police said.
Shots were first reported outside the Crunch Fitness gym at 1630 Range Ave. at 8:27 a.m., police said. Officers arrived to find a woman in the driver's seat of a white Chevrolet Tahoe, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The woman, identified Monday evening as 43-year-old Paula Zamora, was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Her husband, 52-year-old Tomas Zamora-Martinez, was found about 30 minutes later, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the driver's seat of a gold Jeep SUV parked on Herbert Street at the entrance to the 2001 Coddingtown Mall Apartment complex, Santa Rosa police Lt. John Cregan said.
"The investigation revealed this was a murder/suicide," Cregan said.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing a man walk up to the Tahoe and fire multiple gunshots before driving off in a gold-colored Jeep.
At 9:06 a.m., the Santa Rosa Police Department received a 911 call reporting a man who appeared to be deceased sitting in the driver’s seat of the SUV.
"A handgun, which matched the caliber of the handgun used in the shooting at Coddingtown Mall, was located in the suspect’s hand," Cregan said. "The handgun had been reported stolen in Las Vegas and was not registered to the suspect."
Paula Zamora and Tomas Zamora-Martinez were Santa Rosa residents, and their families responded to the scene and were notified of the incident, the lieutenant said.
"[The couple] recently separated and were living at different family residences in Santa Rosa," Cregan said. "The investigation revealed this was a targeted act of violence."
It is believed Tomas Zamora-Martinez was lying in wait in the parking lot of Crunch Fitness where Paula Zamora frequently worked out, Cregan said.
As Paula Zamora drove into the parking lot and started to park her car, police believe Tomas Zamora-Martinez approached her and fired multiple gunshots through the driver’s side window.
Her SUV was in still gear but rolled to a stop when it hit another vehicle, according to police.
Cregan said no bystanders were struck by gunfire although a bullet did strike a second, unoccupied car that was parked in the parking lot.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting is encouraged to call the Santa Rosa Police Violent Crimes Team at 707-543-3590.
