The preliminary investigation indicated the driver of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz sedan was traveling southbound on Petaluma Hill Road and was passing Yolanda Avenue when her car veered from the roadway and struck an electric pole and a tree.
"The driver, a 53-year-old female Napa resident, was partially ejected from the vehicle during the collision," Ludtke said. "The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. At least one witness estimated the vehicle’s speed to be 80 mph just prior to the collision."
