1 Injured in Fire That Damaged Homes, Vehicles in Forestville

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

One person was injured in a fire that damaged multiple homes and vehicles in Forestville near the Russian River Monday afternoon, a Cal Fire official said.

Crews responded to a report of a structure fire at Laurel Avenue and Summerhome Park Road around 3:20 p.m., Cal Fire Capt. Joe Fletcher said.

One residence was destroyed in the fire, another home sustained significant damage and four homes sustained minor heat damage, Fletcher said.

Four vehicles, three motorcycles and a golf cart were destroyed and two cars were damaged, he said. One person was transported to a hospital for burns however Fletcher did not know the victim’s condition.

The fire also burned about an acre of vegetation, he said. The blaze was contained around 5:30 p.m., according to Fletcher.

Evacuations were ordered for 50 residents during the fire and they were allowed to return to their homes this evening, he said.

The homes in the area are a combination of permanent residences and vacation rentals, Fletcher said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Crews from the Forestville Fire Protection District also responded to the fire.
