12 Drivers Arrested, Cited At Rohnert Park Checkpoint

The checkpoint took place from 7:20 p.m. Friday until 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Officers conducted a driving under the influence and driver's license checkpoint Friday night in Rohnert Park that resulted in arrests and citations, police said.

According to police, the checkpoint took place from 7:20 p.m. Friday until 1:15 a.m. Saturday on the Rohnert Park Expressway near State Farm Drive.

During the checkpoint, police screened 1,199 vehicles. Officers arrested or cited 12 drivers.

One driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police identified him as Joshua Beach.

Two drivers were cited on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, eight were cited on suspicion of driving without a license, and one was arrested on suspicion of violating probation and a domestic violence
restraining order, police said.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety provided to the Department of Public Safety. More checkpoints will be conducted throughout the year, according to police.
