23 Coronavirus Cases Reported In Central Sonoma County

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The central area of Sonoma County that includes Cotati, Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa has reported 23 confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to COVID-19 demographic information released by Sonoma County Public Health officials. The county reported 66 confirmed cases as of Monday afternoon from a total of 1,551 people who've been tested. The 66 confirmed cases include 52 active cases, 13 patient recoveries and one death.

Seventeen percent of Sonoma County coronavirus cases came from close contact, 20 percent from travel, 18 percent by community spread and the source of 45 percent of the cases is under investigation. The gender of the patient cases was 52 percent male and 48 percent female.

Thirty-one of the county's confirmed cases were residents in the 18- to 49-years-old age group, 22 cases were in the 50- to 64-years-old age group, and 13 of the cases were residents 65 and older.

The south area of Sonoma County that includes Penngrove to Petaluma has reported 10 cases, while the north area that includes Windsor, Healdsburg and Cloverdale, reported eight cases.

East Sonoma County, which includes Sonoma, Glen Ellen and Kenwood, reported nine cases.

West Sonoma County, which includes Guerneville and Sebastopol, reported 10 cases.

There were six cases in undetermined areas of the county that are still under investigation.

Seventy-seven percent of the patients were not hospitalized as a result of the virus, according to the demographic information released by the county.
